Who's responsible for your data
Loftin Marketing, a sole proprietorship owned by Alanis Loftin, based in Denver, Colorado, United States. I'm the person who decides what happens with anything collected through this site, and I'm the person who answers when you ask about it.

What I collect
Things you hand over
- When you book a consultation: your name, email address, and whatever you write in the booking notes. This runs through Google Calendar appointment scheduling.
- When you email me: your email address and the contents of your message.
- When you become a client: billing name, billing address, and email, held in my invoicing system. Payment card numbers go straight to the payment processor. I never see or store them.
Things collected automatically
- Analytics: pages viewed, roughly how long you stayed, what referred you, approximate location from your IP address, and general device and browser information. This comes through Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4.
- Fonts: the typefaces on this site load from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers receive your IP address when a page loads.
- Server logs: standard web host request logs, including IP address and timestamp.
Why I collect it
- To hold a consultation you asked for, and to reply to you.
- To invoice you and keep the records a business is required to keep.
- To see which pages are useful and which ones nobody reads, so I can fix the site.
That's the whole list. If a use ever falls outside it, I'll ask first.
Who else touches it
I use a small number of outside services to run this. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job, and each has its own privacy policy:
- Google: Analytics, Tag Manager, Fonts, and Calendar appointment scheduling.
- Invoice Ninja: invoicing and the client portal.
- Stripe: card payment processing. Stripe handles card details directly; they never pass through this website.
- My web host and email provider: to serve the site and carry my email.
I don't sell your personal information, I don't share it with data brokers, and I don't hand it to advertisers to build audiences.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets analytics cookies through Google Tag Manager. They tell me how many people visited and which pages they read. They don't tell me who you are by name.
If you'd rather not be counted, any of these work:
- Turn on your browser's "do not track" or tracking-protection setting.
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Block cookies for this site in your browser settings.
Nothing on this site stops working if you do. There's no gated content and no form that requires a cookie.
How long I keep things
- Emails and booking notes: as long as the conversation is live, then cleared out periodically.
- Client and billing records: seven years, because tax rules require it.
- Analytics: retained on Google's default schedule for Google Analytics 4.
How it's kept
Accounts are protected with strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication wherever the service offers it. I'm one person, not a security department, so I keep the amount of data I hold small on purpose. That's the most honest protection I can offer.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can email me and ask to:
- See what information I hold about you
- Have it corrected
- Have it deleted, unless I'm legally required to keep it
- Get a copy in a portable format
- Opt out of analytics
Colorado residents have these rights under the Colorado Privacy Act, California residents under the CCPA and CPRA, and visitors in the UK or EU under the UK GDPR and GDPR. I don't check which bucket you fall into before helping. Just ask, and I'll do it within 30 days at no charge.
Children
This site is for businesses and isn't directed at children. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has sent me something, email me and I'll delete it.
International visitors
I operate from the United States and the services listed above store data in the United States. If you're contacting me from elsewhere, your information will be processed here.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes get a note on the home page for a month.
